Hello friends of Great Lake Michigan Emerging Islands of Coherence!
There are many updates for March and the months ahead. It is just getting melty in Milwaukee, and I'm starting to ramp up outdoor activities to enjoy our beautiful waters and forests in the warmer months.
14 March: RiverTrail Commons informational meeting at Gordon Park Pavilion in Riverwest/Milwaukee 2-4 pm. Learn more about this co-housing community at their website and in my interview with organizer/instigator Nola Cross. Youtube recording of interview
17 March: Beginning of a six month learning journey of bi-weekly webinars about bioregionalism and organizing through collapse in the Design School for Regenerating Earth.
18 March: Limicon.org (discount code LIMICONFUN) Limicon Online conference runs through early April, and Danielle Johnson and I are hosting a Regenerate Midwest conversation 6 pm central. Lots of bioregional organizing occurs in the Hylo social network.
20 March: Milwaukee Area Story Tellers March story circle, Bog Witch story # 3, 6 pm at Mount Mary University in Milwaukee
21 March: Fondy Seed Swap at The Table, Milwaukee Urban Ag Network/Wisconsin Women in Conservation

31 March: First Bog Slog of the season in Cleveland at the Midwest Climate Summit on the Case Western Reserve University campus. Learn about wetlands as places of resistance to empire on an easy accessible boardwalk walk and roll. https://shakerlakes.org/
7 April: I host monthly zoom's on the first Tuesday of the month where people share stories of projects or events around Lake Michigan which may be of interest to this group. 11 April: League of Women Voters of Ozaukee County/Washington County Earth Day Party. I'll be talking about Easy Walks and Paddles in Milwaukee, accessible public spaces and wetlands as sites of resistance to empire.
25 April: Milwaukee Riverkeeper citywide Spring Cleanup events at over 100 locations, capped off with a big party at the Harley Davidson Museum. Last year over 4000 volunteers removed 100,000 lbs of trash in a few hours.
2 May: Menomonee River Water Walk with Sturgeon Protectors
June: Easy Paddles and Walk and Talks to celebrate our connections to the waters of the Great Lakes and the tributaries which connect to the Mighty Mississippi, like the Rock River.
8-10 September: r3.0 bioregional organizing webinars/viewing parties/local discussions in Great Lakes cities of Milwaukee, Chicago, Cleveland, Rochester, Toronto and your town if you like.
15-19 September: Turtle Island Bioregional Congress in Cascadia
Tuesdays ongoing: MetaChrysalis climate solutions game sessions at 2pm central.
